LALT Drama & Acting Classes

LALT Theatre House boasts with an in-house Acting Academy, owned and managed by renowned trainer, Louw Breytenbach who has successfully groomed many young professionals such as Candice Kruger (Vir die Voëls), Jaden vd Merwe (Nul is Nie Niks Nie), Devan Behnke (Spook van Uniondale) and Zoë Kolver (Van Agter Die Deur). Louw has also coached and trained no less than 4 National ATKV Landsfinale Redenaars winners and has sent a record number of 29 students to the National Finals for this competition. Furthermore he has produced 13 National Radikale Redenaars winners and coached more than 9 teams to National Victory in Public Speaking and Redenaars.

With a passion for the arts and quality training LALT Theatre House offers classes for young artists striving to better their art or develop their love and passion for drama. Having worked on numerous stage productions and television programs including scriptwriting for KykNET’s chatNOU, Breytenbach understand the unique challenges of the industry and guides and moulds all aspiring individuals to reach their full potential through drama.

LALT Theatre House combines the talents of both young and accomplished performers to benefit the individual as well as the community in which the theatre and its students reside. We provide Beginners and Professional Drama and Acting classes 5 days a week for children aged 04-18 years. It is the aim of the Academy to cultivate a love for performance and the theatre through art and to teach our students to capture the beauty of the moment within a moment.

Our weekly classes follow the curriculum set out by the SA Drama Guild and the SA Drama College. We prepare students for eisteddfod and train them in the art of stage craft.

Eisteddfod Training

Our students compete at both provincial and national level in ATKV, Radikale Redenaars, Gauteng Public Speaking League and Toastmasters.

Public Speaking

LALT Provides a safe haven for the developing student. Encouragement, and support are valuable learning tools. Making friends and finding your own voice has never been more fun!

Development & Self-confidence

We offer extensive training in methods of the masters and audition preparation for students wishing to enter the industry-side of acting.

Complete Development

Talent scouts visit the theatre twice a year at our talent-showcases to scout for new talent for commercials, movies and music videos. Competitions also provide students with the opportunity to compete both nationally and internationally.
